Meghalaya woman beaten in the open, public took photographs instead of saving her.
Police have arrested 6 people, all her close relatives, in Meghalaya, for beating a woman with sticks after she was accused of having an extra-marital affair. In a video that is viral, the woman, a single mother in her mid-20s, is seen being thrashed in public who instead of coming to her rescue videographed and watched the brutal incident silently.
The State Women’s Commission has also taken suo-moto cognisance of the incident and has sent a team to meet the victim.
