The total stock in Mumbai’s seven lakes that supply water to the city was drastically reduced to 5.9% in June, due to which the BMC announced water cut and started using reserve water stocks. However, due to the incessant rain during the last twenty-three days water levels in these lakes rose to 53.1% on July 23 from 5.9% on July 1.
The BMC has not withdrawn the 10% water cut, yet.
