Much to the dismay of Indian fans, wrestler Vinesh Phogat, was eliminated for being overweight ahead of her final bout against USA’s Sarah Ann Hildebrandt in Paris Olympics, today.
She was on her way to become India’s first woman wrestler to reach the Olympics final by defeating World and Olympic 50kg champion Yui Susaki on Tuesday.
In the meanwhile, PM Narendra Modi called IOA president P.T. Usha seeking first hand information and requesting her to use all available options to solve the issue.
