Rain causes havoc in Gujarat

28 people died, 17,800 people evacuated, 5000 people rehabilitated and over 12,000 people rescued after the floods across Gujarat state after the incessant downpours and waterlogging.

Due to the flooding of the Vishwamitra river
10 crocodiles landed in Vadodara.
Range forest officer Karansinh Rajput said, “We have rescued 10 crocodiles in the last 5 days. Two have been released and 8 are still with us. We will release them when the water level of the river decreases.”

Gujarat’s State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC) has revealed that the state has received 105 per cent of its average annual rainfall till now.
