Hezbollah promised to retaliate against Israel after accusing it of detonating pagers across Lebanon on Tuesday, killing at least eight people and wounding nearly 3,000, including the Hezbollah fighters. The Iranian ambassador to Lebanon also injured in the pager attack.
Pagers were used in the 1980s and 90, but despite mobile phones taking over pagers all over the world, the people in Lebanon still use it by specific groups, such as medical professionals. The Hezbollah members are also using pagers for internal communication, due to their less traceable nature compared to cell phones.
