Ticket checker beaten up with hockey stick for demanding ticket, at Nalasopara.

After the attack on ticket inspector, Jasbir Singh, in August inside a Churchgate-Virar air-conditioned local train by a ticketless traveller, another ticket checker, Vijay Kumar Pandit, 29, was assaulted with a hockey stick after he demanded a ticket from a passenger who alighted from AC compartment. When the passenger showed him a second class ticket TC asked him to pay a fine of Rs 345. The passenger told him he had only Rs 210. The TC decided to charge him Rs.150.

The commuter returned after some time with a hockey stick and attacked him from behind. Pandit reported that he started bleeding from behind his ear, the assailant fled after injuring him. He was rushed to the Riddhi Vinayak Hospital in Nalasopara after which he was referred to Jagjivan Ram Hospital in Mumbai Central. hospital where he was admitted.
