After Monday’s encounter, Akshay’s family had refused to take his body, calling the encounter fake.
His family have now agreed to accept his body but have demanded police protection for his last rites citing threats to there lives.
The Badlapur residents had declared they will not allow the last rites of Akshay Shinde to be performed in local crematorium.
Akshay Shinde had in the past expressed desire that he would like to be buried instead of being cremated, his lawyer Amit Katarnavre said.
Finding a burial site for Akshay is also becoming a problem as local residents have opposed Shinde’s burial saying they did not want a “pervert” to be buried in the “holy land of Kalwa.
Th local MNS leaders warned they will not allow Akshay to be buried in the region.
At present Akshay’s body is kept at a Kalva hospital
