Out of 99, BJP retains 71 sitting MLAs in the first list of candidates, including 13 women candidate, for the Maharashtra Assembly polls.
Out of 288 seats the BJP is likely to contest 160. The remaining seats are being contested by its allies Shiv Sena and the Ajit Pawar-led NCP.
Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis will be contesting from his traditional Nagpur South West seat.
Three-time MLA Ram Kadam will contest from Mumbai’s Ghatkopar West seat again.
BJP’s Mumbai chief Ashish Shelar will contest from Bandra West. Mr Shelar’s brother also got a ticket to contest from Malad West. The controversial Nitesh Rane is contesting in Kankavli.
The BJP has not announced a candidate for Borivali, considered one of the safest seats for the party.
