The Supreme Court today put a break to the Yogi’s bulldozer and declared that the residential or commercial property of an accused or convict of a crime can’t be demolished without following the due process of law.
No demolition should be carried out without prior notice. The Supreme Court added that affected parties should also be given time to challenge the demolition order.
It is illegal to demolish houses just because a person is involved in a crime, the Supreme Court said.
