When Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra reached the Delhi-UP border on Wednesday, to reach Sambhal, where 4 youths were killed in police firing on 24 November, they were stopped by the police, barricade were put across the road causing traffic to come to a halt. The Congress workers were seen attempting to climb over the barricades raising slogans.
Sambhal officials had asked neighbouring districts to stop the Congress leaders before they entered the district. The District Magistrate has written to authorities in Bulandshahr, Amroha, Ghaziabad, and Gautam Buddha Nagar, urging them to stop the Gandhis at the border.
