Byculla, Mumbai | July 4, 2025 — In a significant recognition of exemplary policing, the Office of the Joint Commissioner of Police (Law & Order), Brihanmumbai, has awarded a Certificate of Appreciation to Assistant Police Inspector (API) Khalil Sakina Tajoddin Shaikh of Byculla Police Station. The honor celebrates his pivotal role in tracing and arresting three long-absconding proclaimed offenders involved in serious criminal cases.
Crackdown on Absconders
API Shaikh, with the support of his dedicated investigative team, successfully apprehended the following individuals:
1. Mohsin Gani Shaikh – Arrested on 30 June 2025
2. Amirjan Mohammad Shaikh alias Lal – Arrested on 2 July 2025
3. Imran Riaz Ahmed Qureshi – Arrested on 3 July 2025
These arrests were linked to the following criminal cases:
– CR No. 01/2020 – Arms Act (Sections 4, 25)
– CR No. 41/2021 – IPC Section 380 (Theft)
– CR No. 268/2018 – IPC Section 379 (Theft)
The operation was executed using a combination of technical surveillance and informant-based intelligence, showcasing the team’s strategic acumen and field coordination.
