Tragedy in Mankhurd: A Sinister Plot Unveiled

In a shocking turn of events, the police have unraveled a chilling murder case in Mankhurd, where a woman, Reshma Jaiswal, was brutally killed by her own family. The investigation, led by the Zone VI police officers, unfolded a tale of betrayal, conspiracy, and cold-blooded murder.

The Discovery

On the morning of August 24, a vegetable vendor stumbled upon a suspicious sack near the Metro car shed in Maharashtra Nagar, Mankhurd. Initially dismissing it, the vendor was later alerted by a foul smell emanating from the sack. Upon investigation, the police found the lifeless body of Reshma Jaiswal, a resident of the same area.

A Murder with No Clues

The discovery set off a massive investigation involving multiple police teams. Despite scanning CCTV footage, analyzing mobile data, and questioning numerous suspects, the case seemed to hit a dead end. The crime scene had no operational CCTV cameras, and the few that were nearby were either non-functional or didn’t capture anything suspicious.

A Breakthrough

The breakthrough came when a witness reported passing the location at 2 am without noticing anything unusual, narrowing down the time frame of the body being dumped. The police shifted their focus to human intelligence, canvassing the area for anyone who might have been around during that time.

A crucial lead came from an auto-rickshaw driver who recalled dropping off a family at the Mankhurd railway station early that morning. The family, suspiciously dressed in dirty clothes despite claiming to be on their way to a temple, caught the attention of the police. CCTV footage from the station revealed that three individuals—two women and a man—had changed their clothes outside the station at around 3:30 am. They were later identified as Ravi Srivastav, Munni, and Reshma Srivastav.

The Grim Details

Upon further investigation, the police uncovered a horrifying conspiracy. Reshma’s husband, Kanhaiya Lal Jaiswal, his brother Ashok, and her lover Ravi Srivastav had plotted to kill her. On August 21, Reshma was lured to Ravi’s house, where the gruesome act was carried out. Kanhaiya and Ashok held her down while Ravi struck her on the head with a grinding stone, ending her life.

After the murder, the body was kept hidden in Ravi’s house for three days. On August 24, in the early hours, Ravi, along with his mother and sister, attempted to dispose of the body. Their plan to dump the body in a nearby creek failed due to its weight, leading them to abandon it near the Metro car shed.

Justice Prevails

The meticulous efforts of the police, combining both technology and traditional investigative techniques, led to the arrest of all involved. The case, a stark reminder of the dark side of human relationships, has left the community in shock.

This tragedy in Mankhurd is a somber tale of betrayal and a reminder of the importance of vigilance and justice in society. The police’s swift action and dedication to solving the case have ensured that those responsible for this heinous act will face the full force of the law.
