The Indian Meteorological Department had issued a red alert for heavy rain and thunderstorms, till 8.30 am today. Keeping in mind the safety of the students, all the schools and colleges in Mumbai declared a holiday today.
However, the Mumbaikars woke up to a sunny morning with the traffic back on track. Rains stopped in most parts of the city. Local trains, the lifeline of Mumbai, were running normally though some services were slightly delayed. BEST buses also function normally.
