The protestors in Amravati, on Friday night, were demanding registration of cases against Yati Narsinghanand for his “objectionable” remarks “If you have to burn effigies on every Dussehra, then burn the effigies of prophet Muhammad.
The police told the crowd that an FIR related to the incident had already been registered. The crowd went back. but returned after a video of Narsinghanand remarks circulated on social media which work as a fuel in the Fire.
The controversial Narsinghanand had said last year “Akhand Hindu Rashtra was the dream of Veer Savarkar and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. This dream should not be limited to Afghanistan; we should strive until Hindutva reaches Makkah and Kaaba.”
