The two structures of 4 floors each, of transit camp at Nariyalwadi, Reay Road, which were developed in the year 2013, for 5 years, to accommodate the tenants of Nariyalwadi, Reay Road, which is being redeveloped by NAN Enterprises, are the most feared structures in South Mumbai.
The structures of the transit camps are in such a dilapidated condition that the iron supports have fallen down. There are huge cracks developed in the structures. The water flows from under the structure from one end to another.
Multiple complaints by the locals to the SRA and the BMC E ward have fallen on deaf ears.
After the incident of the building collapse in Madanpura, today, the locals are in a fit of fear, as given its condition, the transit camp may give way, anytime. Hundreds of residents are forced to stay in the said dangerous structures.
It’s high time there concerned authorities fulfill their duties to avert any undue incident.
