Gautam Adani, 62, one of the richest people in the world, chairman of Adani Group and his nephew Sagar Adani, 30, face U.S. charges in a $2 billion fraud and bribery scheme, allegedly the group paid $265 million in bribes to Indian officials to secure solar energy contracts projected to generate billions in profits, and hiding payments from investors, US prosecutors said.
After the allegations, Adani stocks crash up to 20%.
