Israel, Hezbollah accept ceasefire deal brokered by U.S.

The US and French presidents issue joint statement announcing ceasefire.

The ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon based Hezbollah began on Wednesday
effect at 2.00 a.m. (GMT) on Wednesday November 27, 2024, as both the warring factions accepted the ceasefire agreement which was brokered by the United States, to end the 13-month long hostility which turned into a full fledged war in September that killed thousands of people, mostly innocent civilians.

As per the agreement,
Hezbollah group is expected to move 40 kilometers back from the Israel-Lebanon border, while the Israeli military is expected to withdraw completely from the Lebanese territory.
