Tamil star Vijay hosted an Iftar in Chennai on Friday.
Imams from 15 mosques across Chennai were invited, arrangements were made for 3,000 people.
Vijay observed a full day of fasting, adhering to Islamic customs, before hosting the iftar party.
However, there are fundamentalists and fanatical believers in every section of the society.
The Tamil Nadu Sunnat Jamath treasurer, Syed Kous, has filed a complaint at the Chennai Police Commissioner’s office for ‘insulting Muslims’ at the iftar party as Vijay’s ‘foreign guards’ disrespected people, ‘treating them like cows.
As per the News18 report, Syed Kous said, “We believe the participation of drunkards and rowdies who had nothing to do with fasting or Iftar has insulted Muslims.”
Needless to say, it’s nothing but an attempt by the complainant to gain cheat publicity, at the cost of disrupting communal harmony
